Who are Refugees?

Refugees around the world are the people, victims of circumstances beyond their own will, control, a reality that is often ignored. Afghan Refugees are one of them. The life of such people is miserable beyond the fact that they are the people with all basic rights as other people have. A Refugee can be defined as a person who is just on the basis of his nationality, religion, and race. They are just thrown away on the blind fact that they can be proved harmful for the integrity and solidarity of the country. Refugees carry few luggage with them, which includes basic needs of their life.

Refugees classification:

The movement of refugees can be classified into 3 steps.
Stage one occurs when they leave their home. According to the estimate there are 22 million refugees in the world who are forced to leave their homeland. 75% of them are women and children. These people (refugees) are categorized into two types. One type consist of the people who flee their country and enter into the neighboring country. Another type consist of the people who move within the country from one part to another and are called internal refugees or displaced persons.
The majority of these people come from the developing countries like Afghanistan and other states of USSR like turkamanistan, azarbaijan etc..

Step 2 is the spending of days and nights of the life in a refugees camps. And its not amazing to know that in some camps there are more than 1000 people live. And that’s a horrible fact. The people in the refugees camps are forced to live the miserable and poor condition. These camps are dirty,miserable with lack of food and water and no shelter, no heath care for the sick people and children.However in some camps the health care facility is provided,but that is only the formality,people have to wait for days ,even for the weeks for the doctor to visit the camp and the medicine provided are the cheapest medicine with no guarantee to cure the disease Some people live in this miserable condition for the whole life while for some the period is relatively short comprising of either weeks,months or few years.

The political and economic matters and the crises of the countries in the world are basically responsible for all this diverse situation.The mistake of the government of one country can make a thousand if the people homeless. As the population of the world is increasing the amount of refugees lying in every corner of the country is increasing, and this fact is so diverse that it can shake the world. That day is not far away when these will stand together and demand their rights and in that case it will not be possible for the government of any country around the world to meet their unless and unless the government is not willing to focus on this serious situation now. The war in Iraq and Afghanistan has lead the number of people to be refugees and traveled through the country and only this, the same situation cased the population of the Pakistan to increase to a terrible amount. Millions of Afghan Refugees are inhibited in afghan refugees camps all over the Pakistan and special in northern areas. Khyber pakhtoom khwa, NWFP, hazara.

These people can also be called as the economic migrants, who left their home voluntarily to earn the better wage as they get in their own country or from the previous work.

Refugees in Pakistan:

Here we shall discuss the case of refugees inhabitant in Pakistan. The question arises where these people come from? What are they here for? What has forced them to visit Pakistan rather than any other country.
To get the answer of all these question we have to go back to the history.

History of Afghan Refugees

It was the period when the whole world watched that how the great USSR was splashed into the pieces,the great communist state which was once one of the powerful states of the world was broken into the parts,resulting in several other small countries,Turkmenistan,Azerbaijan,Uzbekistan,Qazikistan and several others. This situation gave rise to the terrific situation of refugees. Number of people left the great Russia and traveled across the world. And Pakistan was on the top of the list. It started from here and continued till the America attacked the Afghanistan, and after the attacking the world can not even imagine that millions of the afghanis crossed the border and entered in the Pakistan. And after that the slope of Pakistan's economy started getting downwards. No formula worked. Number of plannings and strategies by Pakistani government were failed.

Afghan Refugees in Hazara Pakistan:

In Pakistan most of the refugees camps relocated in Khyber pakhtoon khuwa.thousands of the people form Afghanistan are settled here. In which Kachagari is one of the oldest camp,it was completely demolished in the year 2008 but again inhabited in the year 2009 by the internally displaced persons (IDPs)bajaur and Swat. Jalozai and Shamshatsuare two other big camps.

According to the estimate around. 450,000 IDPs were increased to the 2 millions due to the talibanic war in swat.And all these people are traveled from their own village swat without anything,everything left behind by them were destroyed by the terrible war.These people were once the most happier people on the earth. Allah almighty had blessed them with the natural beauty and natural resources. Every year thousands of the foreigners made the visit to this place. And only it took a month to destroy the heavenly place and turn these people into refugees.
As shown by the surveys and reports,2 million people were displaced and the horrible fact is that only 30 % people were recroded as the refugees in the camps.And according to the government it was a small disturbment and the army’s involvement was much necessary but these 2 million displaced people are sufficietn enough to be a hurdle for the future prosperity. One can easily make a guess that our government hasw not been able to handle the settled middle class people,how it would be able to handle to the more than 2 million Displaced people.

In the record, Pakistan has the refugee population of over 10 million. And that’s why our country could not go so far in the race of development.

In going more deeper we shall discuss the case of refugees in HARIPUR CITY. Haripur city is abandoned of the refugees with the number of refugees camps across the city. The main camp,as it can be called, is located in the western side adjacent to the village of pannian and pandori,it has the straight road link from the SILK ROUTE. Thousands of smalls homes are constructed in this area,and the amazing fact is that these peole are not living in misery if you take the case as majority. One can easily see the Toyota corollas wondering in that area. These people have the hold on the majority of the market. The have a great business of clothes,shoes,bags,car rent services, mini marts and mobile shops. In fact the Landa market which is very famous in haripur for its clothes,shoes and bags are run by these afghanis.You can call this market as the largest profit gaining and busiest market and occupies by these people. The reason of their hold and prosperity is not due to their illegal work,although there is but in less proportion,the reason is hard working. These people have the ability to do any work without getting shy. The haripur city for them is like England. As we people go to foreign have a best stroke of luck,these people come here. And this case is not limited to the haripur city,one can find this case in each and every city,but to find the best example one should visit the haripur city.An astonishing fact is that while walking in they main bazaar of haripur ,you shall find the 3 afghanis in group of every 4 people and the in every 2nd toyota corollapassing by your side will be of afghans.

The fact is worth knowing, yet being ignored.
